Outspoken. Managing the Golden State's Purse Strings. Guest: Malia Cohen, Candidate for State Controller

A lot of people talk about how States, Municipalities, Counties and the Federal Government need to work harder and be smarter when it comes to the responsibility of handling citizen's money levied through taxation of all sorts. But, who is actually qualified to perform the multitude of tasks associated with the top administrator when it comes to collecting and disbursing those funds and managing the abundance of agencies in a state that qualifies as the world's fifth largest economy? That would be the Controller of the Great State of California. Malia Cohen has experience at the Municipal and State level of guiding policies and practices by agencies entrusted with this responsibility and she is running in 2022 as the Democratic candidate for State Controller. She talks about what she will bring to this position with Joy Silver on this episode of Outspoken.
